This air fryer cornbread uses yellow cornmeal and buttermilk. Serve it warm with soup or chili. Use an air fryer-safe pan that fits your basket with room for air to circulate.
Ingredients
- 1½ cups yellow cornmeal
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
How to make air fryer cornbread
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F. Lightly grease a suitable pan, such as an 8-inch square pan if it fits your model.
- Whisk the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk the buttermilk, melted butter, and egg.
- Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients just until combined. Pour the batter into the pan.
- Air fry for about 15–20 minutes, checking near the end. The cornbread is ready when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cooking time varies with the pan and appliance.
- Let it cool briefly in the pan before slicing.
