Hamburger Potato Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large potatoes peeled and cut into chunks
  • 4 large carrots chopped
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • ½ stalk celery with leaves diced
  • 3 cloves garlic chopped
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon beef bouillon powder
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 8 cups water or enough to cover ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prepare the Vegetables
  • In a large soup pot, combine potatoes, carrots, onion, celery, and garlic.
  • Stir in dried parsley, basil, bouillon powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Step 2: Simmer the Vegetables
  • Fill the pot with enough water to cover the ingredients.
  • Cover and bring to a boil over mediumhigh heat.
  • Cook for 1520 minutes, or until vegetables begin to soften.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Step 3: Cook the Ground Beef
  • Crumble in raw ground beef, adding a little at a time while stirring.
  • Return the pot to medium heat and bring back to a gentle boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for another 1520 minutes, until vegetables are fully cooked and beef is no longer pink.
  • Step 4: Serve
  • Ladle the soup into bowls and serve hot.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs, shredded cheese, or crumbled bacon, if desired.
