Jello Creamsicle Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • For the Crust:
  • 3 cups shortbread cookies
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • For the Filling:
  • 1 orange peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 1 box of orange Jello 3ounce
  • 12 ounces cream cheese softened and cubed, divided
  • 12 ounces Cool Whip divided
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14ounce
  • For Garnish:
  • Orange slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prep the Crust
  • Spray a deep pie dish with nostick spray.
  • Pulse the shortbread cookies in a food processor until they reach a sandlike consistency.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cookie crumbs with the melted butter and mix well.
  • Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of the pie dish to form the crust.
  • Place the pie dish in the freezer while you make the filling.
  • Step 2: Make the Orange Flavor
  • Rinse out the food processor, then add the orange slices, orange zest, vanilla extract, and orange juice.
  • Puree the mixture until smooth and set aside.
  • Step 3: Make the Filling Base
  • In a stand mixer (or large mixing bowl with a hand mixer), combine 8 ounces of cream cheese and the Jello mix. Beat until smooth and well combined.
  • Step 4: Make It Fluffy
  • Fold in the sweetened condensed milk along with 8 ounces of Cool Whip. Mix gently to combine.
  • Step 5: Combine the Orange Mixture
  • Beat the orange juice mixture into the filling until smooth.
  • Step 6: Assemble the Pie
  • Pour the creamy filling into the prepared pie crust.
  • Step 7: Chill
  • Chill the pie in the fridge for a couple of hours for a softserve texture, or pop it in the freezer for about an hour for a firmer, frozen texture.
  • Step 8: Make the Topping
  • Whip the remaining 4 ounces of cream cheese and Cool Whip together until smooth and fluffy.
  • Step 9: Garnish and Serve
  • Spread the whipped cream cheese mixture on top of the pie.
  • Garnish with orange slices for a beautiful finish.
